We are hiring an experienced HVAC Technician to install, replace, and service residential HVAC systems across the Coachella Valley.

HVAC Technician - Coachella Valley

This is a full-time field position for an HVAC technician who already knows the trade. Coachella Valley work covers the full residential scope, from new installs and system replacements through ductwork, diagnostics, and seasonal maintenance. Desert heat puts residential systems under heavy load for months at a time, and technicians who thrive here understand how extreme ambient temperatures affect system sizing, duct design, and long-term performance. Pay is competitive and based on experience and specialties.

What You Will Do

Core Responsibilities
New system installation Install split, packaged, and heat pump systems including condensers, air handlers, line sets, and electrical connections to manufacturer specifications.
System replacement and retrofit Remove existing systems cleanly, upgrade supporting infrastructure where required, and match new equipment to existing ductwork and electrical.
Ductwork Fabricate, install, and repair flex and metal ductwork with proper sealing, insulation, and air flow balancing.
Diagnostics and repair Troubleshoot system faults, electrical issues, refrigerant problems, and airflow concerns. Diagnose the root cause and repair it properly the first time.
Maintenance and tune-ups Seasonal maintenance including filter service, coil cleaning, refrigerant checks, electrical inspection, and system optimization ahead of summer.
Mini-split installation Install ductless mini-split systems including indoor units, outdoor condensers, refrigerant lines, and low-voltage controls.
Site safety and communication Maintain a clean, safe job site and communicate professionally with leads, other trades, and homeowners.

HVAC Work You Will Do

Experience across multiple HVAC scopes is helpful and in most cases required. System replacement, ductwork, and diagnostics are the highest-volume jobs across our Coachella Valley projects.

HVAC Services We Provide
New System Installation Split, packaged, and heat pump system installs on new construction and additions. Experience with Trane, Carrier, Lennox, Goodman, and Daikin.
System Replacement Residential system replacements and retrofits, including matching equipment to existing ductwork and electrical infrastructure.
Ductwork Flex and metal duct fabrication, install, and repair. Proper sizing, sealing, insulation, and air balancing for Coachella Valley cooling loads.
Diagnostics and Repair Full diagnostic work on residential systems, including electrical, refrigerant, and airflow issues. Common summer service calls on systems running under peak desert load.
Maintenance and Tune-Ups Pre-summer inspections and tune-ups including filter service, coil cleaning, refrigerant checks, and electrical inspection.
Mini-Split Installation Ductless mini-split systems for additions, converted garages, casitas, and spaces where ducted systems are impractical.
Thermostats and Controls Install and configure programmable and smart thermostats including Nest, ecobee, and manufacturer-branded controls.
Indoor Air Quality Media filters, UV systems, and whole-house ventilation solutions for desert homes where indoor air quality matters year-round.
Ductwork, system replacement, and mini-split experience stands out. Verifiable experience in these areas significantly strengthens your application.

What We Require From You

  • Minimum 5 years of residential HVAC experience. Hard minimum.
  • Hands-on experience across install, replacement, ductwork, diagnostics, and maintenance, with preference for technicians who have worked on split, packaged, heat pump, and mini-split systems.
  • Solid understanding of system sizing, airflow, and refrigerant behavior under desert cooling loads.
  • Ability to work in desert heat, including summer rooftop and attic access where ambient temperatures stay extreme all day.
  • Physical stamina to lift 75 lbs, handle ladder and rooftop work, and access attics and tight mechanical spaces.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites across the valley.
  • Professional communication with leads, other trades, and homeowners.

What Sets Strong Applicants Apart

  • California C-20 HVAC Contractor license is preferred but not required.
  • Heat pump and dual-fuel system experience as these systems grow in the valley.
  • Strong ductwork fabrication skills, including proper sizing and air balancing on retrofits.
  • Manufacturer certifications from Trane, Carrier, Lennox, Goodman, Daikin, or comparable brands.
  • Smart thermostat and zoning system experience.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish.
  • Experience running a small crew or acting as a lead technician on residential jobs.
