We are hiring an experienced Electrician to perform residential electrical installs, repairs, panel upgrades, and troubleshooting across the Coachella Valley.

Electrician - Coachella Valley

This is a full-time field position for an electrician who already knows the trade. Coachella Valley work covers the full residential scope, from panel upgrades and EV charger installs through remodels, service calls, and solar and battery backup tie-ins. Electrical loads have grown significantly in this market as homeowners add EV chargers, heat pumps, and battery systems, and electricians who thrive here understand how to plan and execute panel upgrades and new circuits that keep up with those demands. Pay is competitive and based on experience and specialties.

What You Will Do

Core Responsibilities
Panel upgrades Upgrade residential service panels from 100A and 200A to 300A or 400A, including meter coordination, grounding, and inspection.
EV charger installation Install Level 2 EV chargers with proper circuit sizing, conduit runs, and load calculations. Coordinate with utility when service upgrades are required.
Remodel and new construction Rough-in wiring for remodels, additions, and new construction with clean routing, proper box fill, and code-compliant detail work.
Service and repair Diagnose failed circuits, tripping breakers, failing outlets, and aging wiring. Repair or replace components and document the work.
Fixtures and devices Install outlets, switches, lighting, ceiling fans, smoke detectors, and low-voltage devices with clean finish work.
Subpanels and circuits Add subpanels for outbuildings, casitas, and expansions. Add dedicated circuits for major appliances and specialty loads.
Solar and battery tie-in Tie-in work for solar PV systems and home battery backup, including critical load panels and transfer equipment.
Site safety and communication Maintain a clean, safe job site and communicate professionally with leads, other trades, and homeowners.

Electrical Work You Will Do

Experience across multiple electrical scopes is helpful and in most cases required. Panel upgrades, EV charger installs, and solar or battery tie-in work are the areas where skilled electricians are hardest to find locally.

Electrical Services We Provide
Panel Upgrades 200A, 300A, and 400A service panel upgrades including meter coordination, grounding, and utility coordination. High volume scope across the valley.
EV Charger Installation Level 2 EV chargers including Tesla, ChargePoint, and universal J1772 units. Load calculations, circuit sizing, and conduit runs to garage or exterior mount.
Troubleshooting and Diagnostics Full diagnostic work on residential electrical systems, including failing circuits, tripping breakers, arc faults, and aged aluminum wiring.
Remodel and New Construction Rough-in wiring for remodels, ADUs, additions, and new construction with clean routing and code-compliant detail work.
Service Calls and Repairs Residential service calls for tripping breakers, dead outlets, bad switches, aging panels, and general electrical repair work.
Outlets, Switches, and Fixtures Installation and replacement of outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, ceiling fans, smoke and CO detectors, and USB outlets.
Subpanels and Circuit Additions Subpanels for casitas, outbuildings, and pool equipment, plus dedicated circuits for major appliances, AC units, and specialty loads.
Solar and Battery Tie-In Interconnection for solar PV and home battery systems including critical load panels and automatic transfer switches.
Panel upgrades, EV chargers, and solar or battery tie-in experience stands out. Verifiable experience in these areas significantly strengthens your application.

What We Require From You

  • Minimum 5 years of residential electrical experience. Hard minimum.
  • Hands-on experience across multiple scopes, with preference for panel upgrades, EV charger installs, troubleshooting, remodel wiring, service and repair, and subpanel work.
  • Solid understanding of California Electrical Code and NEC, proper wire sizing, load calculations, and permit requirements.
  • Ability to work in desert conditions, including summer heat and hot attic and crawl space access.
  • Physical stamina to lift 75 lbs, work in confined spaces, and handle extended ladder and overhead work.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites across the valley.
  • Professional communication with leads, other trades, homeowners, and inspectors.

What Sets Strong Applicants Apart

  • California C-10 Electrical Contractor license is preferred but not required.
  • EV charger certifications from Tesla, ChargePoint, or comparable manufacturers.
  • Solar and battery interconnection experience with Enphase, Tesla Powerwall, or Generac systems.
  • Service upgrade experience to 300A or 400A on existing homes, including utility coordination.
  • Smart home and low-voltage experience including structured wiring, networking, and lighting control.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish.
  • Experience running a small crew or acting as a lead electrician on residential jobs.
